After watching the VMA’s a few weeks ago, I can’t stop watching music videos…I keep searching for my favorite artists, and looking up the best places to view them.  Gone are the good ol’ days of MTV.  That was so easy.  Just sit down in front of the tube, and you were guaranteed to see some of your favorites within the hour.   I looked at my online guide to see when MTV plays videos.  It’s mostly TV shows and not much music.  I have found I really love Palladia.  I can watch whoever is on.  Even if I may not be a huge fan of the artist, and it’s not always music videos.. something about the way Palladia presents their music is really great.  I wonder where everyone is going to watch their favorite artists these days?

I am not sure where to start.  Ok, how about this.  It’s a really good thing my kids weren’t into watching the show, because between Miley’s outfits and the 300 trojan commercials, or the references to marijuana.. I would have had a ton of explaining to do.  I remember as a kid waiting up to watch the VMA’s.  I was excited to see the performances, I was excited to see what all of my favorite groups were wearing.  Now a days, well there’s little left to imagination on the clothing front, and the performances..well let’s just say thank goodness for DVR’s.  I’m not 100% sure anything about a video was ever mentioned.  Were videos even discussed?  What I can recall, what I can not un-see, would be Miley’s outfit choices. And weird, weird performances.  I suppose, this is what MTV wants. Us talking the next day about all the craziness from the night before.  I guess, if the saying is “sex, drugs & rock and roll” and that is what the VMA’s are going for…well then they knocked it out of the park!

Unfortunately, the end of July signifies the end of summer for many.  Weather it’s going back to school ourselves, or preparing a child to go back, there is much to do.  Lists are handed out, and lists are made.  We have to get school supplies, clothes, or outfit an entire dorm room or apartment  There is so much to do.

Good thing for online shopping to make the check marks appear faster on my “TO DO list.”     For years, I felt like I needed to go in to the store to touch and feel the purchases I would make.  I no longer feel this way, the click of the button is so much better.  My purchases come quickly and I waste much less time driving around from store to store.   Who is your “go-to” online retailer for all the items you need?  I have a few that I like to use, and I am so grateful they offer the convenience of online shopping.

Every summer there is a new pop song.  The radio station will play it over and over.  You can almost guarantee each time you turn on your car, that the song will be on, or it is coming up next.  You begin with really liking the song.  Next, comes the time where you wish the song would play since it’s totally on your mind.  Then, the time comes when you hope they don’t play that song again….and finally,  you begin to HATE the song.  It’s almost like the radio station ruins this one specific song for you, in 3 short months of summer.

I wish I didn’t like the pop stations because of this phenomenon.  But, I have to say, those pop songs are POP-ular because of the catchy way they suck me in.  Once the song has been “played out” I feel that I almost miss hearing that tune and get excited when I hear my favorite song of summer randomly played in January.  It makes me think of how fun it was to drive around, windows down, pop music blasting….my song of summer.  

A collar stay punch will be the best and coolest addition to dad’s morning routine.  A guy who wears collar stays is already a pretty cool cat.  He’s the kind of guy who cares about what he’s wearing…he cares about how he looks…and he probably thinks he’s super cool.
